Things are in full swing at our Battersea Power Station Museum and Shop.
As a sister venture to MurrayTwohig, ’Battersea Power Supplies’ was founded by our co-founders David Twohig and William Murray: passionate advocates of the Power Station and key figures in its recent redevelopment, having first come together on the real estate project which kick-started the founding of our consultancy.
Battersea Power Station has always inspired; from its iconic architectural design to Pink Floyd’s Animals vinyl artwork and Hollywood films Superman, Batman and The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus. Our museum and shop collection celebrates Battersea’s heritage, architecture, design and cult appeal – with gifts, art and souvenirs carefully curated from a range of London and UK-based creatives. This ‘place brand’ success also highlights the value to real estate developments in nurturing vision and authentic identity.
The unique kiosk space in Turbine Hall A also includes an exhibition about the building’s history, its role as a cultural icon and how the new development came to be. We’re making collaborations with local artists, and running workshops with local children – because we’ve always seen this endeavour as being a partner to the broader objectives of the project, and as such, this isn’t just a passion project – it’s a live testing ground for curation strategy.
We’re navigating and responding to retail realities, stretching from merchandising to shop design to footfall, in real time. This hands-on experience in place delivery and operational credibility is deepening our strategy services with new insights grounded in real transactions, real feedback, and real-world constraints.
